So, TfL have been kind enough to pause the ULEZ and Congestion charge on Christmas Day. Initially, you’re thinking, “oh, that’s great new”, but then you remember that just a few days ago London and the South East had been put into Tier 4 (i.e., another Lockdown).

Under Tier 4 rules, you must stay at home and only travel if you must, i.e., for work and essentials. So, we must continue to follow the rules set out by the government, but also enjoy the no charge on Christmas Day… makes perfect sense!

I mean, what do they take us for? Why insult someone’s intelligence like this?! Anyways, rant over – just thought I’d vent a little!

Some updates

Just a reminder that in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Congestion Charge reimbursement scheme has been temporarily extended to cover journeys made by:

• People that work for NHS Trusts, charities and local authorities in roles responding to the coronavirus pandemic
• Care home employees that work in care homes within the Congestion Charge zone

Some NHS patients may also be able to claim Congestion Charge and ULEZ reimbursements from their participating, treating hospital.
